Christmas Morning Panic

In our family, we try to create the magical idea of Santa Claus for our daughter's fun Christmas childhood experience... something like that 🤷‍♀️

So... this morning, I woke up LATE...

The first thing I did after I opened my eyes (I mean wake up), was to silently shout in surprise because it's already 10 in the morning!!!!

But I'm still up earlier than Illya, the 5yo little human... so it's fine. However, the "gift of Santa Claus" wasn't wrapped yet and the reply letter to Illya wasn't created yet... So I was in a hurry.

The next thing I did was not to pee (sorry kidneys) but to get up and go straight to where the hidden gift wrapper was. I wrapped the "gift" as fast as i could even though the shape is irregular and I could not do it really fast 😅

I wrote a reply letter too, with a bit of effort to change the handwriting, and then I heard some footsteps.

LOUD AND FAST footsteps! "Is my husband awake? Then he can help me to---"

A little girl in a hurry was what I saw instead.

"Is Santa's gift there?" ...was the first thing she said, not "good morning".

My daughter, who needs a lot of minutes to stay in bed after waking up, rushed straight into the living room today to immediately find Santa's gift. And I was still in the process of cleaning up the "evidence".

Note: According to my husband, the little human jumped and rolled out of bed as soon as she woke up!

Good thing, she was focused on the gift. She went straight to the gift and opened it. The little human was very happy 😆

I was slowly hiding the pens, the crumpled wrappers, the scissors, and the tape while she's busy with the gift. Whew!

She also read the reply letter. "Santa Claus knows my name!" she exclaimed… cutely 😍

BUT! She noticed that the macarons weren't eaten. Well, I opened its box but I did not have the time to eat some.

Illya: "But they did not eat the macarons"

Me: "uh well, maybe they tasted it... you see, it is open and they drank some juice too" (good thing that Fernan drank some juice in that cup last night)

Illya: "Ahh" ---focus shifted back to the gift

Hahahaha! Mission success! But I won't get away with this the next time. 😅

Ho Ho Ho! The end.

Extended prequel:

This year seemed a bit busier than last year. This secret gift just arrived on the 24th of December... that’s the Preparation-for-Christmas-Eve Day! And it arrived in the afternoon, just a few hours before we left the house to celebrate Christmas with our friends.

The first time she saw this toy cat in a store, we told her that we will NOT buy it. A few days later, their class was asked to write a letter to the Reyes Mago (the Three Kings). They dropped that letter in a Christmas mailbox in school. (Here in Spain, kids ask the three kings for a wish/gift instead of Santa Claus)

In Illya's letter, she said that she wants the cat toy that poops and eats. She also thanked Papa Noel (Santa Claus) in the letter to the three kings haha

Around that time, we realized that she really wanted to have this cat toy and that this is the gift she wishes to receive from Santa Claus this Christmas.

We realized it too late. It was already December 23rd! THE CAT TOY was already out of stock in the many nearby stores we know, except amazon. Oh yeah, thanks amazon! 😆

SO, it arrived but neither me nor Fernan were able to wrap the "secret gift" a day before... not even the night before.

We have also arrived home so late from the Christmas gathering with our friends. BUT before we slept, Illya was still able to make a letter for Santa really quickly (with my help in writing).

We even left some macarons and pineapple juice for him... 🤷‍♀️ we don't have milk and cookie

That’s all folks. Then the morning panic happened next. Now we have a new member of the cat family, Lang-lang, Kitam's cousin. The end.

A Meowrry Christmas everyone. 🎄
